Ember coaching with Sarah

I come to coaching from two directions at once: a career spent as a Head of Design, where my job was to sit with complexity and help people find their way to clarity — and a parallel path through a Master of Social Work program at Columbia, where I'm currently training in counseling, case management, and community support work through my practicum.

Uncovering the Ember started as a creative practice recovering mythic, sovereign women whose stories were told about them more than by them. Coaching grew out of that same instinct: helping people brush the earth away from what's still alive in them, even when it's been buried under other people's expectations, old patterns, or a life that stopped fitting a while ago.

I work with clients who are functioning, capable, and ready to move toward a decision, a reinvention, a clearer sense of what they actually want — rather than in acute crisis. My background informs how I listen and how I think about change, but coaching with me is not therapy: it's forward-facing, collaborative, and grounded in your own authority over your life.

I offer a limited number of 1:1 spots, including sliding-scale and founding-client rates for new clients.

Coaching Fees & How It Works

What coaching costs

My standard rate is $150 per session. I also keep a few spots open at different price points, because access matters to me as much as the work itself:

  • Sliding scale: If $150 isn't doable right now, there are two lower tiers ($110 and $75) based on your own honest read of your financial situation. No pay stubs, no proving anything—just pick what's true for you.

  • Founding client rate: Since I'm early in building this offering, the first 8 people (or the first 90 days, whichever comes first) get a $100 rate, with sliding-scale options down from there. In exchange, I just ask for honest feedback about the experience.

However you come in, there's a floor of $60/session—coaching stays a real, professional relationship, not a freebie, even at the lowest tier.

A quick note on what this is (and isn't)

Coaching with me is forward-facing—we're working on what's next, not doing clinical treatment. It's not a substitute for therapy, and if something comes up that sounds like it needs more support than coaching can offer, I'll say so and point you somewhere that can help.
